Field Service Technician

About the job

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • As a mechanical maintenance specialist Your task is to do inspections of
    machinery as part of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and
    troubleshooting mainly but not only for Raute manufactured machines and
    equipment. Maintenance tasks are mainly performed at our customers mills, or
    remotely using modern online tools. Performed tasks are reported into a special
    report form after every work mainly at home office. In addition, your tasks
    include occasionally machine installation, installation supervision and training
    the customers for new equipment at our installation sites


  • In order to succeed in the position, you should have a solid experience in heavy
    industrial machine maintenance. Good knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
    will be considered as an advantage.


  • You must have readiness to travel, you need to have good interaction skills,
    customer service attitude, the ability to work independently and a good level of
    English. Previous experience of the mechanical wood processing industry is
    considered an advantage.

About you

Required skills:

  • The task requires good knowledge of Raute ́s technology and customer
    processes (training will be provided), as well as a lot of independent decision-
    making and problem solving. Success or failure affects directly to the production
    capacity of the customer ́s mill.

  • Good customer service and communication skills 

  • Excellent Polish and English language – both verbal and written, other
    languages will be considered as an advantage

  • Knowledge of Raute ́s products (machines, equipment, services) and
    understanding of the customer ́s production process

  • Basic skills of a machine assembler

  • Computer and application skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, ERP, maintenance
    management system)

  • Reporting skills


In additional Field service technician:

  • Is responsible for high-quality service planning and implementation of customer
    visits and reporting of the work

  • Acts as Raute ́s representative at customer sites

  • Is promoting further sales through additional services, recommendation of spare
    parts, upgrades and modernizations.

  • Is willing to learn new skills and is ready to work under flexible hours
    Interaction and communication required for the task

  • The task requires active communication and interaction with both internal and
    external partners.
