Poland's minimum wage higher from January 2025!

For the first time ever, the minimum wage in Poland exceeded the level of the federal minimum wage in the USA!

📈 1 January 2025, the minimum wage in Poland increased to PLN 30.50 gross per hour (approximately USD 7.35 at the current rate and EUR 7,13), which for the first time exceeds the federal minimum wage in the United States (USD 7.25/hour, unchanged since 2009). However, many states set their own higher rates.

💡 The monthly minimum wage has also increased, now amounting to PLN 4666 gross (EUR 1090), an increase of 8.5%. The level of the minimum wage in Poland still differs from the rates in many Western countries. For comparison, the minimum wage in Germany is EUR 12.82 per hour.

🛒 The high increase in Poland's minimum wage reflects the high growth rates of the average salary (over 10% y/y) and elevated inflation (at around 5%).

💸 The Polish government estimates that the new minimum wage will benefit more than 3 million workers and add additional costs for small and medium-sized enterprises of PLN 11.8 (EUR 2,76) billion and PLN 3.2 (EUR 0,75) billion for large companies.
